First Graders and Computers

This year our school has started the process of going to one on one laptops for all students. This year we have a cart of Macbooks that travels from classroom to classroom and next year the third-fifth grade classes will actually be one on one meaning each student in those grades will have a their own laptop to use in class all day everyday. It's pretty crazy. It has been a wild ride teaching computers to 6 and 7 year old kids. I thought it would be easier because kids these days are all pretty up with technology but these kids were really nervous. Some caught on really quick but others not so much. It's like starting from scratch, learning the very basics, how to log in and such. Things we all do but we don't remember learning. The last month has been amazing because the kids are finally "getting." It's really exciting. I am also feeling really proud of myself because I feel my computer knowledge and skills have really improved and I am pretty impressed with the things I can do now!

Minnesota

Here we are at the Mall of America! It really is HUGE!! We had fun shopping and we even got to try cheese curds. They sound horrible but they are actually pretty good.

The wedding was in a beautiful old mansion, it was amazing! After the ceremony we went down to the wine cellar for drinks which was something I had never done before. It was really neat. The reception was held up stairs in the ballroom. I don't know if that was really what it was called but that's what it felt like!

It was really cold in Minnesota and I really had nothing warm to wear. One of the ladies that works in our office at school, Kathy, let me barrow this beautiful coat that went with my outfit perfectly. I loved it so much I didn't want to take it off, or give it back to her. It actually snowed the day we were leaving and heading to the airport. We really had a fun weekend!

Rihanna and Chris Brown

Yesterday we went to the Grove with Joy and Sean for one last night out before going back to school today. Not 3 minutes after we walk out of the parking structure who should we see but Chris Brown and Rihanna!!! Sean goes hey look that's Chris Brown and I was just like yea right, he kept insisting and I still didn't believe him so we followed this little group of guys and sure enough it really was him. It was strange because not many people were following them or making a big deal because they were being very stealth. Joy was so brave she asked if she could take a pic with him but the guy said no. Next thing I know I look over and I see this girl with the cutest hair and the coolest shoes and I am like no way... That's totally Rihanna. So I start saying uh guys... There's Rihanna right there! They didn't see her at first but then all of the sudden we were all like you have got to be kidding me!!!! Joy asked her if we could have a pic and she said just a sec. She got some ice cream and then took a pic with us!! It was crazy! She is gorgeous and so is he!!! Wow! I totally looked him in those big brown eyes!! She had her cute little puppy with her and I told her how cute her dog was, she said thanks! Ok, do I sound like a high schooler getting all excited? I feel like it, we were all really calm at the time but as soon as we walked away we were totally freaking out! "Did that just happen?" "Uh... yeah!!!"

Happy Easter

We are so happy to be on Easter Vacation and we spent half of it back home in AG. We had a great time catching up with family and friends and just getting away from the busyness of life!

Buddy just loves when we go to AG he gets spoiled rotten! He has his bone in his mouth here, he is just so happy!!

It was so fun seeing Emily!! I can't wait for her to move closer to me!!! Yeah!!

Brandon and Jamie

While I was in Bakersfield for the wedding I got to see Brandon and Jamie's new house and their cute new puppy named Lola. She is so tiny and just so cute!! I have truly become a dog lover, it's still weird to me!

The following week we had dinner with Brandon and Jamie back in Azusa as they were passing through town. It was great hanging out and reminiscing!

Two weekends ago I went to Bakersfield for my cousin Carrie's wedding. It was a fun filled, family weekend!! Don't these little flower girls look amazing, like little angles!

The other night we had dinner to say good bye to our wonderful neighbors JD and Shelly! It was a fun but sad night. We also said good bye to Todd who was leaving for the Air force. So sad to say good bye to our good friends! JD and Shelly are just in Fullerton but when we were used to having them across the hall 20 min away feels really far!
